Mike has enjoyed a broad range of experience where hands-on development and professional networking have been cornerstones in a notable career. He has various applications of his business analysis abilities throughout his career where opportunities or situations demand resolutions, and Mike continually takes leadership positions in finding the right answers. With many years at Wells Fargo Bank Private Asset Management, Mike oversaw the daily operations of Portfolio Managers while personally managing $650 million of assets under management. He managed $400 million of investable fiduciary assets at Bank of America while assisting with various client relationships. Mike is a Chartered Financial Analyst candidate, and he also passed the NASD Series 86 and 87 Supervisory Research Analyst exams. His Finance degree was earned at Cameron University, where Mike attended on a full academic scholarship
Mr. O’Donnell has nearly 20 years of experience as a successful entrepreneur and investment banker. Having owned, operated, and profitably exited numerous companies, he brings a level of expertise appreciated in any transaction. Mr. O’Donnell has founded a variety of companies that were involved in technical consulting, healthcare turnaround management, gaming and slot routes, and staffing. His background in skillful negotiations, business development and executive management is a valuable asset to Pepperwood Partners. Mr. O’Donnell has been a member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the Turnaround Management Association. He holds a BA in business and economics from the State University of New York and he also studied in Salamanca, Spain. Mr. O’Donnell also holds various gaming licenses.
With over twenty years of experience in bulge and boutique investment banking and private equity platforms, Mike has been recognized as an accomplished leader, relationship manager, and team builder. He possesses a keen sense for identifying business development and revenue enhancement opportunities, while placing a high value on strength of character, ethics and trust.
Prior to joining Pepperwood Partners as a Managing Partner, Mike was the Executive Vice President of Tremel Lonestar Company, Inc. in Dallas, TX. He was responsible for all relationship management, business strategy, deal evaluation and implementation for the US Holding Company.
Mike was the Co-Head of U.S. Equities and part of the Executive Management team that led Adams Harkness, a Boston based investment boutique, through a merger with Vancouver based Canaccord Capital. He was a key public spokesperson for the firm and has been a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and radio, and has been quoted often in the Wall Street Journal and the Associated Press.
Previously, Mike held key roles at Citigroup and CS First Boston in Dallas, Texas. He obtained an undergraduate degree and MBA from the University of Notre Dame and was a professional football player with the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos of the NFL.
